Program Leadership & Design Offerings
Dual Language Education of New Mexico offers a wide range of leadership support modules designed to ensure that your program can start off on the right foot and build in practices that will foster sustainability and capacity building at all levels.
Thoughtful program design is a necessary first step to choosing a structure and model that will work best for your setting. It requires the constant care and reflection on research, best practice, implementation, and continuous improvement. Our focused leadership modules are designed to help schools and districts understand that program sustainability is only realized when the ideals and commitments are owned by the entire school community.

Dedication to Supporting Quality Dual Language Programs
The Guiding Principles for Dual Language Education was originally developed by a national panel of dual language experts and reviewers, published in 2004. Its conception was based on the Framework of Best Practices for New Mexico Dual Language Programs, developed by Dual Language Education of New Mexico. It serves as a tool to help dual language program leadership with planning and ongoing implementation. Grounded in evidence from research and best practices, the book addresses program issues in seven strands:
- Program Structure
- Assessment and Accountability
- Staff Quality and Professional Development
- Family and Community
- Support and Resources
Dual Language Education of New Mexico has always believed that this critical resource must be available to all stakeholders interested in developing or strengthening dual language programs.
