Workshop: Building Oral Language Through the Use of Poetry |

This workshop will demonstrate how poetry is used to build oral language in a two-way dual language kindergarten and first grade classroom. Strategies used will be connected to practical application of findings in the area of brain research and language acquisition. The workshop will include a demonstration of how poetry is introduced and the different ways in which students interact with poetry to build oral language skills. Handouts will include sample poems that can be used in the classroom. |
